Welcome to SuperCD from Issue 127 of PC Plus. The interface has been
expanded further and you will now see that Internet Explorer 3 users now have a
frame version so that everything is easier to use.
Please read the Readme, which contains important information about using the interface.
The software is also divided into several sections to help you find what you are interested in. You can move to areas by clicking on the section headings at the top of each page. Additionally each program can be accessed instantly by going to each page from the links down the left hand side of each page.
This month's PC Plus has a set of software that will astound you. If you are a UK reader, then you will have not one, but two CDs. The first contains the complete Pre-Release version of Lotus SmartSuite '97. On this CD, the usual SuperCD, there's no end of useful software too.
There's
Image Pals 1.2, the complete image managing
solution. This is a suite of programs that allows you to create albums of images
as databases and also a capture program for acquiring images from almost any
source. It also has an editing program for enhancing your images.
This package originally retailed for $249.
We have also managed to get a very special upgrade deal for PC Plus readers, who
can save over £70 off the RRP of Photo Impact 3, the brand new version of
Image Pals.
For programmers
using Visual BASIC 4, there's a real treat from
ComponentSource this month. In this section, as well as
lots of evaluation versions of their products, you will find the Crescent
Internet Toolpak 2 in the WWW tools selection. This
package was sold up until January 1997 for £120! You can use it
to add Internet capability to your programs. There's also a brand new version
out for you to buy when you've seen how useful this version is.
To help get you the best from the SuperCD, we've got the full version 2 of WinDelete, so that you can make sure that you can fully remove any software you install that you don't decide to keep. This program is easy to use, but make sure you read the pages so you understand how it functions. This program used to be sold for £29.95. A new version is available and you can check the magazine for upgrade details.
There's also a full program called Quotes and Clippings from GSP. This is like an electronic dictionary of quotations and allows you to add classic witticisms to your writing. This program was sold for £14.95.
Of course there's plenty of other worthwhile programs on the CD for you to check out too. There's the usual Rants and Raves and Hands On files in the PC Plus area, which also has a new database of all our previous issues so you can find exactly what you are looking for and there's an exclusive video report from the Windows 97 show. Vista Pro users will love Vue d'Esprit which can render beautiful landscapes. This version has much of the functionality of the full version and can save out small renders. In the Essential software section, you'll find the evaluation version of the brand new McAfee Virusscan 3 for Windows 95. There's the demo of the new high end photo manipulation software Satori and the 3D rendering package Infinid 3.5. And when that's worn you out, relax with the demo of the truly fantastic Flying Corps.
